Are You Addicted to Your Cell Phone? Better Get Some Cell Phone Therapy.

The first step of entering and successfully completing a cell phone therapy program is admitting you have a problem :) Extensive studies have yet to be done how extreme and constant cell phone use can cause problems with socialization, cell phone radiation financial distress or even re-alignment of brain synapses, but you can be sure that over time we are going to see more and more how that one little piece of seemingly harmless hardware can cause so many long term problems that you can't even begin to imagine. While there are no such thing as cell phone therapists, don't entirely rule it out. Anywhoo-

Short and Sweet

In this section you'll learn how to control your addictive and irrational behavior, what the ideal cell phone therapy is and see why you need to think twice everytime you pick up that phone to make one quick phone call or look at your email for one quick second. Beyond cell phone radiation, it's just the whole 'lifestyle' dealbreaker. Additionally in this section you'll discover:

* How you can avoid premature arthritis and carpal tunnel (to say the least) by doing simple thumb exercises daily

Nice and Slow

Fortunately, I have never had to go to any type of therapy for anything and even though I have worked in the industry for many years I am actually fussed out for never answering my 'dumb phone' *why do you carry it anyway, aaargh? *so it is not likely I would ever have to go to cell phone therapy either. When I am on my own, time, I am on my own time. I have never smoked a cigarette in my life, I only drink socially and I don't own a TV so I am pretty much disciplined when it comes to the major vices, lol. ok, ok, I know there are a couple more out there but we won't go there :)

If you want to get rid of your cell phone addiction, the truth is you don't really need 'cell phone therapy' ;-). Like anything sound and good old fashioned advice and common sense may be just what the doctor ordered. For starters don't try to gradually ween yourself from using your device or try to restrict your use to certain times of the day. The trick is simply not focus on it. The first thing you have to do is think about what you use your cell phone for and if it is really necessary to be turned on 24x7. Is it addiction as much as it is convenience? If you are a parent and your children are on the go and your children are home and you are home do you need to turn it on or be answering calls as they come in all through the evening? NO. If you are an employee and you need it for work and you are not on call afterhours do you really need to have it on responding to emails all hours of the evening? NO. You see this is where the problems start? And that is why you think you would need a cell phone therapist, because you keep nodding YES when you are thinking NO, what is up with that? :)

I know if you have a BlackBerry you don't want to turn it off and then have 1,700 emails come in the next morning, but do you have to take it to keep checking it or taking calls when you are supposed to be spending time with your significant other? NO, it is rude and selfish. If you check emails instinctively every few minutes even when it is not going off, then it is truly an addiction and while you may not need cell phone therapy, you could certainly benefit from my Special Report 'Ebb & Flow on the Go', How to Detox From Your Crackberry.

The simplest thing you can do with your phone or BlackBerry to break your cell phone addiction is turn the darn ringer off when you don't need to be alerted or have it on. Program your emergency callers (like mom/child/spouse) with a special ring tone so you know its them. Now isn't that a novel idea? If you want to stop texting, call your cell phone company and tell them to disable the feature so that you can't send or receive text, how is that for quitting text cold turkey? Stay away from the TV, The Wii, The XBox, Facebook/MySpace and we'll be good to go. Speaking of TV and Wii, I was just wondering how much would a cell phone therapist charge per visit...and if they could break other 'naughty, time sucking' technology habits?

Do you really need a cell phone therapist or do you just want to stop looking at your phone every 2 seconds ;-)?

Aside from long term effects that could come from using your cell phone all the time: cell phone radiation for parents and children alike, poor face-to-face socialization skills, and you miss out on some of the best things in life while living in perpetual 'text', wouldn't it be nice to save a little cash and have a predictable cell phone bill every month? You could use that money to treat yourself and a loved one to a nice dinner or something ;-)

And think about it, if you were willing to put yourself in a position where you enrolled in a cell phone therapy program and had to visit your cell phone therapist once per week (how trendy and so L.A. would that be?) :)...or if you thought of how much it would 'blow' and how painful it would be to have treatments for your deteriorating brain that got too much cell phone radiation in your 'younger' years....wouldn't it just be easier to do something you truly enjoyed TODAY instead?

So why not try putting yourself in situations where it is inconvenient to use your cell phone but good for your lifestyle and personal satisfaction. Not a bad trade off huh? Think of group social networking settings where you don't know any darn body and are in an environment where you constantly have to meet people and learn their names, personal time with real people is the best therapy ever, cell phone or otherwise; sign up for a martial arts course or a foreign language class and enhance your brain and your mind; take sailing lessons (so fun); volunteer at a community based event for a cause you are passionate about; join a meetup group; try an extreme sport (no way, not me); learn to surf or kiteboard; learn to ski or snowboard; go hiking; swim; go to the gym; play tennis; take a yoga class; go to a live sporting event with your friends or the theatre with your spouse or significant other; mentor a child; read a book; watch an old movie you haven't seen in a while; knit/crochet; do something you always say you have wanted to do; ride a bicycle; spend more time with your child; take a road trip; visit a place in your community you have always wanted to go but never had time; hire a virtual assistant and let them check your email and transcribe your voice mail; write a letter to an old friend; email someone you met long ago but never wrote back. Low on time? Give up TV and Browsing the Web for a month. Low on cash? Ask to volunteer at any of these places you are interested in doing your activity and taking your course and I will bet (1) They will be excited to have your help and accept any time you can give them (2) They will let you participate in their program for fre.e or a significantly reduced rate. Yes, it sounds so basic in theory and principle but the best therapy is constant nourishment of your spirit and that comes down from simply living your life!

Do Good Twice
Change your Hard Knocks Life to a Heart Knocks Life. I volunteer alot (and have done so since I was 12 years old). It has afforded me the opportunity to participate in so many unbelievable venues that I might not otherwise would have been able to attend or participate in because of cost and we are talking about quite a few events that start at $500/pp+ or only sold by the table. I also have met so many cool and like minded people and people that my path probably never would have crossed because of status, access etc. As an unexpected bonus, I also ended up developing quite a few great business deals as well. I still volunteer with so many organizations because it's so much fun and I can help promote and advance interests that I am passionate about. I also personally detox everyday by napping, reading a great book, listening to nice chill and relaxing music or simply doing nothing.

At the end of the month I know you are always wondering where the time went. So stop wasting your time talking nonsense jibberish on your cell phone, checking your email every 2 minutes on your Crackberry or playing all day on the internet. Because soon you will find yourself alone....with no time left.
